awesomeness
So I was watching “The Talk” a few days ago and they had this segment on about a book by Neil Pasricha, The Book Of Awesome. As they were talking about the book and different things that are “Awesome” Holly Robinson Peete says, “It is awesome when you order a basket of fries and there is just one onion ring stuck on the bottom…” I started to think…that is awesome and I thought I would come up with my own list of awesomeness…
*finding money in a pocket in a pair of jeans
*standing in a long line at the grocery store and the cashier next to you opens up and takes you next
*putting on a shirt or pants you haven’t worn in a while and they fit better than they used to
*trying to find an outfit for an evening out and you actually find the perfect thing
*waking up and having hot chocolate
*staying up late and then looking at the clock and realizing that it is past 7:00am and realizing your kids actually let you sleep in
*kissing your little boy goodnight and he leans over and says “Thanks for my special ice cream treat today, I love you mom.” (with no prompt or anything!)
*making a green light when you really need to and you just want to be home
*making smores with your kids on the stove and watching their faces light up when their marshmellows get brown and gooy
*seeing your oldest jump into the pool and start swimming across it like he has been swimming for years
*crossing the finish line of a race and seeing the smiling cheering faces of people who not only love you, but who woke up early, got dressed and walked 2 miles to be there at the end…for you!
*Getting a hug…enough said
*waking up to blue skies and beautiful day
*a quiet house a 7PM after a long week
*Finding a great deal with coupons and sale prices
*Thinking something important was lost and maybe even got thrown away and the out of the blue a message on your voicemail saying that it is not gone after all.
*finding your keys that have been lost for at least 2 weeks
*Goodnight kisses and cuddles
